Just In: Supreme Court Justice Souter Retiring

There are reports that Supreme Court Justice David Souter plans on retiring at the end of the courts U.S Supreme Court - Equal Justice Under Lawcurrent term. Before you get nervous (as I did before I found out who was retiring), Souter typically votes with the liberals on the court, which means that there will likely not be a shift in the balance of power. We all know that Barack Obama will appoint someone whose views coincide with the far left, I’m just worried that he will choose an activist judge.

(What I’m about to say is not a joke though it may sound like one)
Obama’s criteria to pick a judge? Empathy! I kid you not, this nonsensical answer was given during the campaign (wait isn’t the campaign still going on) as a decisive factor in selecting a judge. I truly do not know whether to laugh because it sounds so ridiculous or cry because this is our new reality thanks to Obama!

There’s also going to be a lot of pressure from different groups pushing Obama to vote for a minority or a female. While I qualify in both of those categories, I’d rather choose people based on their credentials. I don’t think we should discriminate anyone, male or female, black or white, young or old...who cares! I want to know that you’re the most qualified and more importantly, that you will follow the constitution no matter what your personal beliefs are!

By the way, David Souter was appointed by the first President Bush. I’m hoping that Obama will make the same mistake when he makes his appointment. Okay so I can hope but come on…You really think that Barack Obama will accidently misjudge his appointment. Yeah, didn’t think so.

How radical do you think his selection will be? Based on Obama’s views and statements, I bet it’s going to be pretty extreme.

What I Learned From Obama's Press Conference

What I learned tonight from Obama's primetime press conference...

  1. Nothing.
  2. Nothing.
  3. His teleprompter is now in the back instead of the ones he used to have on each side. (He probably should practice more because it was obvious)
  4. He talks wayy too much. Smart tactic...the more you talk, the less time for Reporters.
  5. The Press must be on the White House payroll because the questions were pointless.

Specter "I'm going to run in the Republican primary and on the Republican ticket"

Only 20 days ago Specter told Newsweek that he would not be switching parties. Hmm today Harry Reid said that this had been in the works for a while now. Conclusion? Specter is a trader and a liar! How much more arrogant and selfish could this man be? He decides he can’t win so rather than stand up for principles and the people who voted for him, his political future holds precedence over all else...

Newsweek: Would you consider running as an independent.

Specter: No.

Newsweek: No? Definitely not?

Specter: I'm a Republican and I'm going to run in the Republican primary and on the Republican ticket.

Newsweek: We talked to Governor Rendell who said that the running joke is that you could easily become a Democrat and if you did, the framework in the state would make things very easy for you.

Specter: I'm not considering it. Rendell said he would help me raise money. He said that publicly a few weeks ago and I responded publicly that if I became a Democrat I wouldn't need to raise money.

You can bet the democrats wanted Specter! His betrayal to the Republican Party would help push the Democrats to 60 votes in the Senate which would be a filibuster proof majority (how scary is that). What back door deal did they make? Is he going to be able to pass legislation with ease, unlimited amount of pork for his state (you know the Dems love to insert pork into a bill), placed on a committee? What was more important than self-respect? I’m not angry that he switched parties, in fact, I could care less. In my opinion he never switched, he remained a Democrat. I’m irritated because there seems to be a pattern among politicians here in DC...they care less about their constituents and more about power. Pathetic!

Steele to Specter "I'm sure his momma didnt raise him that way"

The thing I do like about Steele, unlike most Republicans, he comes out swinging. The Democrats do it all the time, why shouldn't the Republicans? The Democrats can take Specter, its obvious he cares more about himself and his political future than his constituents.

"Senator Specter didn't leave the GOP based on principles of any kind. He left to further his personal political interests because he knew that he was going to lose a Republican primary due to his left-wing voting record...Republicans look forward to beating Sen. Specter in 2010, assuming the Democrats don't do it first."
Michael Steele

I took a break from my real job to campaign for a Senator to prevent a filibuster proof majority. I am proud to say that we won that race but now that Al Franken is cheating his way to the top and Specter is voting like a Democrat, its time to prepare yourselves. Its going to be a bumpy, scary ride!

Obama Has Teleprompter Issues...Again

Firstly, if this was President Bush, the media would be all over it! Furthermore, how genuine can one be if one cannot speak without the use of a teleprompter?

Fox Declines Obama's Request To Broadcast Press Conference

Fox network (not Fox News) has decided against broadcasting President Obama's press conference this Wednesday (April 29). Instead the network will stick to its regular schedule, showing an episode of "Lie to Me". (Which just happens to be a show that I enjoy, you should check it out! It’s really really good!)

The President's press conference will mark his first 100 days in office. Fox will alert viewers to turn to Fox News and Fox Business to watch the press conference. The other networks such as NBC, ABC, CBS will all air the address. Fox has its own news outlet so it would make sense for them to turn down the address while ABC and CBS do not. Additionally, NBC was planning on showing a rerun anyway. They also have to think of Chris Matthews, how can he get by without feeling more shivers up and down his leg? (Ew...ugh)

What’s the big deal? If you want to watch it, turn to a different channel. I could understand the importance of this press conference if Obama was announcing critical or useful information. This is his 3rd primetime conference in 100 days (that’s 3 too many). What’s more disturbing is if you count his "Non-State of the Union" address, it will be his 4th primetime interruption. Someone should let this guy know that the campaign is over! Without getting into details, the networks lose money each and every time the president decides to take up the networks time. They lose a lot of money not to mention its sweeps time!Quite honestly, I find his speeches and press conferences unbearable. Not only does he read off the teleprompter, what’s worse, the questions are made available to him in advance. Can it even be considered a press conference? It’s more of a lecture. Instead of a direct, honest answer, he stumbles around in circles for 15 min per question. Not only does he waste our money but now he wants to waste our time! When does this end? It’s completely pointless, I learn nothing and I feel dumber for having watched.

Oh and by the way, for those of you who are going to bash Fox Network, Bush had to reschedule a primetime press conference because networks refused to broadcast it during sweeps. He was even kind enough to set a time limit so the networks would be able to show their programs. It’s funny that AP forgot to mention this. I wonder why?

AP= Always Phony

Lessons For Obama & Administration

The video speaks for itself...

Carrie Prejean Receives Standing Ovation

Miss Cali, Carrie Prejean received a standing ovation from the audience at the Dove Awards. (which was nice to see after all the attacks on her by different judges of the Miss USA pageant)
Like I said in my
previous post, it must really suck to be Miss USA this year! I still don't know her name and have yet to see her as a guest on any show. In the meantime, Carrie Prejean is soaking up her 15 min! Can you blame her? No...But it’s getting old. I wrote a whole post about how disgusted I was by Trash Blogger Perez Hilton but I do think her response to the question was a tad bit inarticulate. I mean, who says “no offense” when they are speaking formerly. You could use those two words differently and it would be fine but her sentence reminded me of a high school conversation… (Example: I don’t like your outfit, no offense!) I also believe she could have provided greater clarity on the subject and her beliefs. (though, I don’t think the judges would have scored her impartially no matter what she said)
Lastly, what is opposite marriage? To be fair, imagine being asked a specific question by a judge who openly supports something you’re about to say you’re against. I would stumble too.
Anyway, I support everyone’s right to an opinion and I have great respect for her. I think it took a lot of guts to stand up for yourself knowing that you would forfeit your chance at winning the prize. A lot of people would give a generic answer...we call those people politicians!
Okay I’m done, I am over this subject! It’s annoying me!

Miss California Carrie Prejean & Michael Phelps What?

Because of the grand media hoopla surrounding Miss California Carrie Prejean, she is now an instant celebrity. The price of fame in this country unfortunately means giving up your privacy. Thus, there are already rumors buzzing about Miss Cali's dating life with none other than Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps.

When asked about the relationship during a radio interview with Billy Bush, she avoided answering the question by saying that it’s "not appropriate to answer right now. He's a great man ... You can call me on a later day and we can talk about that."
(Translation…there's definitely something going on between them, notice she didnt deny it)
Well, she may have dodged the question but grandma didn’t! According to her grandmother they are "casually dating". (Gotta love grandma for spilling the beans)
So maybe she didn’t win the crown (big deal) and maybe she was called vulgar names by none other than Trash Blogger Perez Hilton but when all’s said and done, who’s on top now?
By the way, does anyone know who the winner of Miss USA is? I mean I know that the winner is from North Carolina (wait, I’m pretty sure it’s N.C?) but that’s about it. I have yet to see Miss USA 2009 appear on any talk shows, news programs, etc. Come to think of it, I don’t even recall seeing a picture of her on any website. I kind of feel bad for her; it’s almost as if she didn’t win.
The controversy created by Trash Blogger Perez Hilton stole the attention from the winner of the pageant and has instead placed it on Carrie Prejean (1st runner up). Miss USA 2009 should thank him for that. That was really sweet of him to do but then again, should we be surprised, he seems like a great guy….(obviously I’m being facetious)

Britney Spears Hair Extension Issues | Ouch!

Pay close attention to the portion of the video where she is being lifted up by the male dancer. Britney Spears leaves behind a part of her "wardrobe". Pieces of her hair extensions are accidentally pulled out (focus on the chaise lounge).
Ouuuchiee!

Most celebrities including Britney Spears use hair extensions almost 100% of the time. Maybe I should clarify that I meant female celebs but then again rumor has it that Brett Michaels also wears hair extensions (surprise, surprise...not really). In any case, it’s a nifty tool for celebs to quickly add length, volume, or whatever else their pretty little heart’s desire.
I have used hair extensions in the past. At that time, I had shoulder length hair and wanted to add a few inches thus extensions were the perfect option. To get to the point...this video doesn’t express the pain factor of having your extensions pulled out. I’m almost certain that her extensions were glued in which means that it probably hurt like heck! I can also bet that she’s missing a few pieces of her real hair along with those extensions.

Shutting Detroit Down Video By John Rich

Maybe our politicians should take a step back, spend a few minutes watching this video, and really pay close attention to the words that are being sung. This song is not only catchy (let me tell you…I’ve been repeating the chorus to myself for a few hours now) but it’s the reality of the times we are living in. Depending on your current financial condition, you may be unaware of the struggle that others are going through. If you have heard the song (which many of you probably have), its written and sung by John Rich who just happens to be a famous country singer (once again, I’m sure that you already knew that but hey...not everyone’s a fan of country). He has been making his rounds on different talk shows, news programs, as well as making a special appearance at the Atlanta, GA tea party with Sean Hannity. His dedication to his country is inspiring and I hope other celebrities take notice. Additionally, I think it’s important to take note of the lyrics as they are bipartisan (I can’t imagine how anyone could say anything bad about this song but take my word for it, they will find something to attack…they always do). It’s not about left or right, it’s about the people that are being affected by this current economic climate and the politicians who don’t understand. It’s about the people that are losing their jobs; it’s about unnecessary spending on the government’s part which consequently will raise taxes on the hardest working people. Let’s face it folks, it would be silly to think that only the "rich" will be responsible for paying back our deficit, which thanks to this current President will be ridiculously high. Despite the fact that there are not enough rich people to pay for all this, personally (as I hope you agree) I am not in favor of punishing the rich for their success, that’s simply not how I was raised. You know, for people that are overly obsessed with “fairness”, how does overtaxing the rich sound fair? It’s neither fair nor logical.

Anyway, I will stop myself before I go any further and just say that I hope you enjoy this video as it is truly touching. I will warn you that it is sad but I think it’s good to publicize the reality of many people’s current situation.

Oh and by the way, I forgot to mention that there is a special celeb appearance in the video!

Enjoy.

Calling Miss Cali Carrie Prejean Names | Unclassy

I have to make this a short post but I just have one question...WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE and anger by the left on the treatment of a young lady, a female? I was appalled and insulted by the horrid names "celeb blogger" (yeah okay) Perez Wannabe Hilton called Carrie Prejean (Miss California). Did I miss something? What makes her different than the girl’s basketball team at Rutgers? Don Imus was fired and attacked repeatedly for making a mistake (and I do believe it was a blunder. He is a shock jock and his joke was in bad taste but quite honestly I don’t think he meant any harm). The shock jock went as far as to apologize in person to the girl’s even after he had been fired. Mr. Classless Perez Hilton went on MSNBC to take back his apology and then say that he wanted to call her the "C" word. Why isn’t anyone outraged at the verbal abuse directed towards this girl? Though he is self-employed as a blogger, he makes money off of his website which means he has to sell ad space. Why aren’t people contacting his advertisers and banning the purchase of their products until they stop advertising on his page. Its one thing to apologize for something you said out of anger but another thing to go on a 2-day rant and attack a woman. I will say this because I tend reject political correctness, I do think that a man attacking a woman is worse than women attacking each other (truthfully, I support neither). Don’t like it? Too bad! Sorry that’s just the way it is! Yes… I do think that’s absolutely fair! So get over it and move on!
I dislike Perez Fake Hilton and his nastiness. Personally I feel sorry for him. He must be a miserable person for being so full of rage and to have such a horrible temper! What happened to respecting everyone’s view? Why this question was even asked is beyond me? I encourage asking tough questions to the ladies of The Miss America Pageant but I oppose asking something so controversial that a person’s personal stance would set off a storm. Like I previously stated, I loathe political correctness but I don’t think that The Miss. America pageant is the place to brew controversy. The judge, Mr. Perez Hilton asked Carrie Prejean for her opinion, she gave it, he disliked her view so he immediately starting bashing her and verbally abusing her! I’ll be the first to admit that her answer wasn’t that articulate but imagine being asked the same question knowing that this judge is obviously in favor of gay marriage yet you are not. I’m sure she was not only nervous but pausing to make sure that she did not offend him in any way and I don’t think that she did. I consider her response courteous and thought she did well as she struggled to find a balance between her position and those whom she knew did not agree with her.
Here’s the thing, if you are asking a question and you are a judge, if you think that there may be a 50% chance that you may dislike the answer or get so hurt where you disregard your duties as a judge and start acting like an ass, then DONT ASK THAT QUESTION. Why is he judging Miss America anyways? Someone who lacks manners and has no class does not represent the best of America. There are so many qualified people out there that would make us proud. Where was Matt Lauer’s outrage when Perez attacked Carrie Prejean on “The Today Show”, I mean he didn’t even feel the need to distance himself from the comments. What about the lady on MSNBC? I don’t know her name and I really don’t care to find out but she stood there and continued the interview him as if it were nothing that a man had just called a woman (on national TV no less) the “C” word (as a lady, I refuse to say such a repulsive word). If you don’t say anything, you don’t look shocked, you continue on as if he’s right then I have every reason to assume that you agree with his foul statement.
Lastly, WHY ARE THEY INTERVIEWING HIM? They are just handing him a platform for him to spew his intolerant rant? Where are the women’s groups defending this young lady…KNOCK KNOCK, is anyone there? She is a female…ring a bell? Feminism? Yeah, wait, I forgot! They only defend you if you agree with their views. Darn, I thought this was a free country but I must be wrong. Isn’t this the group that’s supposed to be tolerant and compassionate?
Oh and by the way, President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton both agree with Carrie Prejean. Almost forgot to add that her state of California and in fact most of America also agree with her. So when Perez states that she was offending a large percentage of people, she was also sticking up for a larger number of people. Nevertheless, we mustn’t be sidetracked about the initial point! Whatever her answer on the matter, it was her opinion and last I checked, in the United States of America, we are to respect everyone’s opinion! We may not like it but we can respectfully agree to disagree!
That’s all! The end.
(Actually I just fibbed; I will write more about this later)

Double Standard Much?

This is good...reallllll good!

Short story shorter or long story shorter (which ever way you would like to put it) a left-wing group called MoveOndotOrg held a contest where people could submit ads attacking President Bush. The video below called "Child's Play" won the contest.
Just take a look at it and let me know why these people aren't up in arms about President Obama's budget which screws my generation and several generations after out of their own hard earned money.
Where are they? Where's the opposition? The double standard is incredible. This begs the question, were they truly against the spending or against whatever President Bush did? I think their silence on our present spending situation answers that question pretty clearly! If they were sincere about being against massive debt and deficits, they would have joined the tea parties that took place on April 15th instead of joining in on attacking the attendees and calling them vulgar and distasteful names. Just another example (of many)...

Watch the video below,
Redstate took over the ad and made it (how should I put)...Current!

Randomness | Sunbathing and Such

Thought this was hilarious! Semi-Celeb Reality Star Kim Kardashian recently blogged about her trip to Mexico. Her post included pictures of her VERY sunburned face and body. Thought it was cute. Maybe next time she’ll remember to wear sunscreen or at least take her sunglasses off!

How many of us ladies (and even some men) have funny sunbathing stories! A friend of mine came back from a trip where he fell asleep with his hand over his chest while sunbathing. I wish I took a picture of his very red chest...oh, except for the middle where his hand had been. The outline was crazy funny!
I’ll be sure to pop out my phone next time to take a picture!

Did You Know? Youtube...

Every once in a while, I stumble upon something cool, weird, or interesting on the Internet (who doesn't). So I've decided to create a section called "Did you know?" (clever, right?lol) and will share my interesting finds.

Okay, so now that I've made my rather not-so-grand announcement, I can move on to my post.

I just found out that YouTube launched a new television section where you can view some of your favorite shows. I guess they are going head to head with Hulu! YouTube has been updating their selection continuously and plans on adding many more shows. So go check it out...

(oh and by the way, they've also added movies)

NBC Washington DC - Bias Much?

In spite of having the lowest ratings week after week (between the cable news channels), MSNBC (along with NBC) continue to spew their left-wing talking points as if they are part of the administration. They seem to have now abandoned all principle by failing to do a proper background search to make certain that the information they put out is factually correct. The local NBC News in Washington D.C posted a video on their webpage from the Tea Party that took place on April 15th. Low and Behold the video is a PHONY and was staged by a left-wing group that has a history of engaging in this kind of garbage (remember the so called “Billionaires for Bush” nonsense)! After watching the video for less than a minute and hearing these fake protestors repeatedly shout “Lower the minimum wage”, I instantly recognized the illegitimacy of the video. I can only assume that the person who posted this video on NBC knew as well but chose to ignore that little fact considering it was most likely inconvenient to their personal views. I’ll even bet that he or she is amused by the disruption they have made.
Having taken a few journalism courses in college, I was taught that ethics are important. Once the trust is gone then your power to report the news is tarnished. If you pay attention to the previous line, I did write “report the news” because the next important thing to remember is that a journalist should always REPORT the news, not MAKE it. The worst thing you can do is BECOME the news!
So not only does NBC and MSNBC make crude and vulgar remarks about the tea party protestors being “tea baggers” (as a lady, I feel disgusting for even writing that word down) but they post a video of a counterfeit protest as the real thing. I just became aware of this story a few minutes ago but if you look at the website, there are a little less than 700 comments about the video. A lot of people have expressed anger over the fake video and yet the story is still up on their website. What’s the deal?!
Will NBC apologize for their “blunder”? Only time will tell but I suspect that their apology will fall short on sincerity. They’ll express regret for posting the wrong video and will act as innocent bystanders as if the whole thing is a "misunderstanding". Ohh Woe is me!
Well to that I say "Wahhh"…I’m switching to WJLA ABC News on Channel 7 from this point forward. Though they are an improvement (as anything compared to NBC is), it’s probably not too much better.
Oh well, what can you do?

* Update *

Apparently it has been 2 days and NBC Washington D.C has not taken the video off!

This is truly maddening! I mean at this point I should expect it but I still find it hard to believe that they would make up a story! As many videos posted on YOUTUBE by tea party attendees, they choose to post one that not only falsely represents the tea party as a whole but come to find out that the insulting video is a Phony! What happened to ethics again? Is it even a word anymore?

I'd rather not post the video on my blog but I'll post the NBC link which has the video on their page.

Turning Down Stimulus Money

A few governors have opposed the crazy stimulus package sent from Washington and President Obama. What most fail to recognize is that the stimulus money comes with strings attached. There really is no such thing as a free lunch! I would be interested in having someone explain to me where they think this money is coming from. It must either be generated through tax increases or printing new money which consequently would lead to inflation. These governors were elected by the people of their states to represent their best interests and that is what they would like to do without the interference of Washington. Thus, several GOP Governors have declined to accept certain parts of the package or would like to use the money to pay down their states debt. Many states are now raising their taxes to record levels because of their addiction to spending. Hmm...would it not be wise of these governors to stop wasteful spending and use the stimulus money to pay down the debt instead of raising taxes during this incredibly tough time? Furthermore, raising taxes in a recession is probably the worst thing you can do…its probably right behind spending when going down a list of what not to do! Don’t spend money you don’t have (an eight year old could tell you that).

Because these governors are trying to do what’s best for their constituents, they are being publicly scolded. Additionally, one Governor was outrageously accused of being a racist by another elected official for rejecting parts of the package (yeah that’s mature).

Unfortunately, people are having a tough time understanding why someone wouldn't just take this "free" money from the federal government…like totally. Duh! They don’t understand that this money is going to be coming out of their pockets in the future…that is…right after they soak the rich for all they have! A group called Carolinians For Reform recently announced spending $230,000 on a TV ad featuring South Carolina’s Governor Mark Sanford explaining his decision to spend stimulus money to pay down South Carolina's debt. In the ad (which is posted below), Governor Sanford explains that “the easy thing isn’t always the right thing” and goes further on to say that “there is a better way than saddling our children with massive debts”. I absolutely agree!

Responding to the ad, the DNC had the nerve to accuse the Governor of putting his political ambitions ahead of South Carolinians. Yeah that completely makes sense because the Governor is making a really popular decision…Not! Declining the money or using it towards debt may be the wisest choice but I would argue that it is not easiest nor does it have many supporters. The DNC’s claim is almost as ridiculous as the whole stimulus package…I did say “ALMOST”.

Irritating People Make Me Want To Scream

I am actually quite embarrassed to admit this but I will sacrifice my comfort for the sake of this little story. I was watching this ridiculous reality show (which most are) about a group of music video models or what not (I think it’s called Candy girls). This one young lady stuck out because of her disgusting attitude. To get to the point, this young lady/model is also a single mother as she mentions 100x during the episode. Along with a few other girls, she was booked for a photo shoot with a magazine promoting the agency which represents her. Being that the agency is fairly new and is working hard to position itself among already established agencies, it is important that these girls remain professional during a shoot or whatever job they are chosen for. This particular young lady (the one I mentioned a few moments ago) seems to always be a bit hostile and argumentative. You know…the type of person who will jump on anything you say just to start a fight. Because of her attitude, the owner of the agency who also happens to be her agent came to the house to discuss the job with the girls but more importantly to chat with Miss. Attitude (I guess we will call her that since I do not know her name or care to find out) about her professionalism. Her agent wanted to make sure that she knew not to discuss her private life, specifically her child during the job and to follow the directions of the photographer. Of course this made her snap and throw a fit, HOW DARE her ask her not to talk about her daughter! Well considering she is on a photo shoot or in a music video, I would think that this is not the best place to discuss your life story with everyone. Like her agent clearly articulated, it’s okay to discuss your daughter if the subject is brought up or asked, otherwise, save the convo for your girlfriends.
I will apologize for the length; I admit I could have gotten to the point 10 sentences ago. Nonetheless, skip ahead to the photo shoot where once again Miss. Attitude gave her agent/boss some lip because she was still holding a grudge from their earlier conversation. Thus, she was asked to leave. Here is what I found so irritating and frustrating. This disrespectful young lady had the nerve to blame everything on her boss. I cannot recall the exact quote but it went along the lines of...She’s taking the food out of my daughter’s mouth.
Umm excuse me? It seems to me that YOU took the food out of your daughter’s mouth. YOUR INAPPROPRIATE actions cannot be blamed on anyone but yourself!
I am so annoyed that someone could say something so ridiculous with a straight face. I mention this because this is what is going on around our country and is being instigated by our politicians (well half of them). They are encouraging this entitlement society where responsibility ceases to exist. Personal accountability is now thrown out the window as we are taught to blame everyone but ourselves…Which not only sounds preposterous, IT IS!

Confused By The Twitter Craze

Okay, I’m finally going to give…What the heck is Twitter and what’s the point of it? I know that technology tends to escape us as we age but I feel as if I am already out of the loop. I’m only in my twenties. I get the whole MySpace thing, had that at one point but skipped over to Facebook. I appreciate the concept of Facebook and MySpace. They’re social networking sites where you can keep in touch with your friends, families, and coworkers. It’s also a great tool to reach out to many people at one time. You can post your opinions for a mass audience if you need to, post pictures, play games, etc.

Great. Back to my question, what is TWITTER? I have stumbled upon a twitter page (if that’s what it is called) by sheer accident once and read some twitter updates but I still don’t get it. Why would people have a page just to tell you what they’re doing at the moment? Facebook has status updates but I don’t think that’s the same thing…is it?
So what do people “Twitter” or “Twit”…?
9:00- Just got to work
10:00- Tired at work
12:00- Going to get lunch
3:00- Still at work
5:00- Leaving work
…and so on and so forth.
Maybe I’m totally off? I’m hoping I have the wrong idea because if this is what Twitter is all about, I don't get it and for lack of a better word, I find it kind of pointless. For this reason I have put off finding out what Twitter is really all about…that is until now.
Oh here we go, Wikipedia has already corrected me as I have called these status updates “Twits”, apparently they’re called Tweets?(Thanks Wiki, you're great)
Description from Twitter:

Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?

This next one makes me giggle!

Why? Because even basic updates are meaningful to family members, friends, or colleagues—especially when they’re timely.
Eating soup? Research shows that moms want to know.
Running late to a meeting? Your co–workers might find that useful.
Partying? Your friends may want to join you.

Aww…Mommy wants to know if you’re eating soup! lol
Here’s the real answer as to Why...
Why you ask? Let me think about it…Uhh because we are N - O - S - Y! Our society is always interested in knowing what everyone else is doing at all times. This obsession is even greater when celebs are involved. We are infatuated by it! Just think about the popularity of reality shows. Its not the shows where people are competing for something, its the reality shows that are based on a couple people, newlywed, family, random strangers just going about their everyday lives. Don’t get me wrong, I have been known to watch a few of these shows if they happppen to be on and I must admit I miighht even enjoy it…but come on, the answer is because we are NOSY! Simple as that!
Lastly, they answer the question how (how to twitter or tweet that is):

With Twitter, you can stay hyper–connected to your friends and always know what they’re doing. Or, you can stop following them any time. You can even set quiet times on Twitter so you’re not interrupted. Twitter puts you in control and becomes a modern antidote to information overload.

So now I know, unfortunately I don’t think I am signing on to this latest trend anytime soon! (Ill be straight with you, I still don't get it)

Mainstream Media Should Be Embarrassed

It's no surprise that the mainstream media went all gaga over Michelle Obama's trip to Britain. I am so embarrassed for them! How much more ridiculous can they sound?

"Michelle Magic"...really?

Glenn Beck Hands It To Him

Glenn Beck vs Connecticut's Attorney General Richard Blumenthal
And the winner is (drum roll please)...Glenn Beck!

Part of the Transcript:

BECK: No. Their bonuses, Sir. They are their bonuses. They earned that money.
What right — what law did they break that gave you the ability in Connecticut to
go after those bonuses?
BLUMENTHAL: Well, let's take it one step at a time.
The money they received came from us, the taxpayers. It's part of the
bailout.
BECK: Oh, I know how this works. I'm asking you, sir. You're the
attorney general. I'm asking you for the law that they broke that gave you the
ability — are you not the defender of the law in Connecticut?
BLUMENTHAL: The
law that they broke...
BECK: Yes.
BLUMENTHAL: ...is the law that requires
that they serve the public interests. The bonuses that are
paid...
(CROSSTALK)
BECK: Wait, wait. What law is that, sir? You are the
chief law enforcement officer. What law is — say that again? I don't recognize
that law. It sounds like a good policy. It sounds like a good rule of thumb, but
I'm not sure I recognize that law. Could you give that to me
again?
BLUMENTHAL: Well, you know, again, these funds belong to us
taxpayers...
BECK: No, no, sir. Look, you know what you have done? You know
what you've done? You are an insult to George Washington, sir. George Washington
made it very clear that we are respecter of laws, not of men.
For your own
political gain, you have decided to go after these people at AIG, because it is
a popular thing. And while I may agree with you that it is obscene, I would like
to know, sir, not what's right as a rule of thumb, not what makes us feel good.
You, sir, are to protect people and to stand for the law in Connecticut.
So,
again, I ask you, sir, what law gave you the right to go after them? What law
did they break?
BLUMENTHAL: Well, I think you're wrong in the basic premise.
We're not going after any individual. We're asking the United States...
BECK:
You as the attorney general...
BLUMENTHAL: Let me finish. You have to let me
finish if you want to know what law I'm talking about.
BECK: There is no law,
sir.
BLUMENTHAL: We are asking the United States of America — our federal
government — to ask that this money be returned or pursue it, because they were
undeserving of it.
BECK: They were undeserving of it?
BLUMENTHAL: Now, I'm
not reporting a law against them. They did not earn this money.
BECK: What
right do you have to say that the people that work for $1 a year,
sir...
(CROSSTALK)
BLUMENTHAL: They were bonuses that were given to people
without services being performed.
BECK: Let me ask you this...
BLUMENTHAL:
And the law here relates to the Wage Protection Act of the state of Connecticut
which was used — unjustifiably — as a reason why the bonuses would not be
returned.
BECK: No, sir. I will give you...
(CROSS TALK)
BLUMENTHAL: So
the law is the statute of the state of Connecticut
BECK: That is so much bull
crap, and you know it, sir. You know...

Here is the full interview. Its pretty lengthy but worth it!
